Habits and way of life. (8)
During winter time wolves keep in the most serried and numerous groups that facilitate collective hunting on large hoofed. In the winter such hunting are especially characteristic for wolves. Wolves howling activity raises also in the end of summer and in the beginning of autumn, during development by puppies of territory when they start to move especially widely on a family site. But if in the winter during packing spontaneous group howl is more characteristic for wolves, then in the beginning of autumn it is a single and caused group howl. This happens because in autumn though all members of pack widely move throughout their territory, but simultaneously they begin to gather in constantly numerous groups and usually use common places of day time rest. Lone animals, coming back to these places after a long absence and coming nearer to it, usually howl. Everyone who is on this day-time rest place, which in most cases is located on distance of hundreds meters from a howling animal, answers to him. Howling contagion during this season is especially high. Hunters for a long time use this while searching for pack. Even not too skilful howling imitation causes reciprocal pack's howl, which on the day-time rest place. Thus, animals, apparently, very secretive and distinguished with high intelligence, with ease, give out their presence. Comments - 0 Home |
